Nokia X - The budget android phone from Nokia

A few days back Nokia launched its first android phone range. Yesterday I got a complete hands-on experience of the Nokia X. Here is my take of the much talked handset.

First of all design and finishing wise Nokia X looks a lot like Nokia's budget Lumia phones. Same unibody and colour choices. If the screen is not on, it is hard to distinguish between a Lumia and Nokia X.

The OS is a heavily customised version of Android which feels a lot like Windows. While in Windows the scrolling was Top to Button, here in Nokia X the user needs to scroll side wise to find the apps. Also this OS does not support most Google services like Google Maps, Google Play store, Latitude, even apps which uses Google service wont work in this OS. This is a big let down. Although an user can download a host of apps from Nokia and Amazon app store, but their quality is not at par with the Google's app. Like I tried "Here Maps" of Nokia and the details were not at all as good as Google Map.

The touchscreen is good and response to even minimal touch, which is Nokia's speciality. The battery life could have been better. The camera is a total letdown, with its fixed focus feature the images are not at all sharp and low light shooting contains lots of noise.

In the price point Nokia X is launched, I dont think it is a good buy, as there are many other devices which have a better features. Budget Lumia phones are far better than X , also Android in its pure form can be experienced in Samsung Duos in this price range, it also have better hardware and specs than Nokia X
