2014 is going to be the year of wearable gadgets, and by
wearable gadgets we mean gadgets that are worn by the user with or under or on
top of their clothing. 2013 was the year when the various technologies
associated with wearable gadgets was taking shape. 2014 will be the year when
all this technologies will develop into meaningful products.
We have already seen some incredible wearable techs in 2013 like
Google Glass, Samsung Gear, Nike+ Fuelband. All this gadgets can be called geeky at its
best, meaning it is basically meant for geeks and not for the mass.
But in 2014 will see an explosion of every types of this
type of gadgets specially designed for the mass consumer. Lets take a look at
some of these upcoming gadgets.
Google Glass
Google Glass is a wearable computer with an optical head mounted
display. It is developed by Google. It allows user to see information in the
head up display and allow the user to communicate with it by voice commands. In
its present form it looks like a pair of eyeglasses with the lenses missing. Over
one eye there is a heads up display, where a user can see the information.
As per analysts and various sources Google Glass will be
officially launched in 2014 and Google may partner with sun-glass makers Ray-Ban
and Warby Parker. It will also be redesigned to make it look more like
eyeglasses. Some of the features it will be having is taking photos and
recording videos by blinking and it will also display to the user the social
feeds of the person with whom he is interacting.
iWatch
iWatch is the fabled wearable tech from Apple. It has been a
constant subject of various rumors since late 2012. Although there is no
concrete evidence of the product being developed or mass produced, cyberspace
is filled speculation that it will be launched in late 2014. Some features
which are been talked of are NFC and live social media feed. Also a user can
view mails and sms on the device. The NFC will be used to unlock cars to main
doors of houses.
Bluetooth Gloves
While using a glove during the winter or riding a bike it is
quite tedious to use a smartphone. So BEARTek created a Bluetooth enabled glove
that can communicate with smartphone. It has got 6 touch points which can be
used to answer calls, disconnect calls and also can control music. It is also supposed
to have an integrated speaker and mouth
piece in the end of the tiny finger and thumb so that it work as a make shift
head phone.
