Apple to turn iPhone into personnel doctor by "Healthbook"

9to5 Mac has leaked screenshots of an iPhone which shows a new app called "Healthbook". This app is going to give iPhone users the ability to instantly to keep track of physical activity, sleep pattern, nutrition and also to monitor blood sugar, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen level, hydration level, weight and heart rate. At present it is not clear how Apple plans to achieve all this with an app as some of them needs blood test. But the screenshots clearly shows the ability of the app to monitor all the general aspects of a persons health.

At present smart phones like iPhone 5s , Nexus 5 and Galaxy S4 have hardwares in them like an accelerometer to keep a track of the body activities. The present generation of smartphones can report how many steps the user has taken or how many calories of food consumed. They have specialised softwares to generate these reports. But if the screenshots from Healthbook are real it will take user health reporting to a all new level.

Some analysts have predicted that the Healthbook app will be integrated with the rumoured iWatch, the wearable gadget from Apple. It will allow to collect the heart rate and respiratory rate data as it will worn in the wrist and can monitor the pulse rates. But to track oxygen saturation or blood sugar, Apple may integrate Healthbook with third party tools, which will connect and submit the data wirelessly to the iPhone.

It may also turn that this screenshot can be a fake, I would ask my readers to take this information with a punch of salt, as other than the screenshot no substantial evidence of the "Healthbook" app is yet to be found. The Cupertino based company has not come with any official statement and the true picture will emerge only after the new iPhone launch.
