In India we have multi-party democracy and we have a lot of political parties. The main parties are Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (Congress). There are also many other parties.
A few days back during the assembly elections for New Delhi, a brand new party called AAP or Aam Admi Party (Common Man’s Party) made a spectacular debut. Their party leader is Arvind Kejriwal. They won 28 out 70 seats.
Their main election manifesto was anti-corruption and the party was formed during India’s Anti-Corruption movement. This party also promised that they won’t follow the VIP culture of the traditional political parties, like using Government Bungalows or using Red beacon cars. Due to this very popular manifesto and promise to reduce corruption they got huge number of supporters not only in Delhi but across India.
But the moment the elections were over, they just took a U-Turn. Since then they have created more noise and have done little work. Take a look at some of the most idiotic things what they had done since then.
One of the party leaders and cabinet ministers Somnath Bharati tried to play the role of a moral police and raided a colony where Nigerians stay in New Delhi. He along with some local hooligans pressured some Nigerian girls who were returning late at night to undergo urine test, as he suspected them of taking drugs. He even pressured police officers to arrest them, as he thought they were drug peddlers. The AAP party and its leaders vehemently supported Somnath Bharati and his wrong doings.
Arvind Kejriwal who promised of not following the VIP culture, ask the Delhi administration to allot him two 5 bedroom Government flats. One he wanted as his home and another one he wanted as his party office.
They even openly supported Khap Panchayats, which is described as Indian Taliban, and not for any wrong reason. These Khap Panchayats have ordered that Girls should not wear jeans, they should not study. All Honour Killings which happen in India are ordered by these so called social leaders. For information to my readers, the Khap Panchayat has been declared unconstitutional by India’s highest court.
After just 49 days, these idiots on the fear of losing popular support resigned from the Government. As they were unable to perform as per their pre-election promises, and as General elections were just around the corner they just ran away, so that common men does not understand the true nature of this dictatorial party.
Now on the eve of the General elections, this same party and their party leader has threatened to jail all journalists after they come to power. The reason for the threat is most of the news channels and newspapers are questioning the motives of Arvind Kejriwal and are exposing his dictatorship like attitude. Media the fourth pillar of democracy has thoroughly exposed how Arvind Kejriwal did double speak on his promises and tried to follow the same VIP culture which he had publicly promised not to follow.
The only relief for us Indians is according to most opinion polls and pre-poll surveys, this dictatorial party will get only about 1% of vote share in the coming elections. As per the reports they can only win around 3-4 seats out of total 543 seats.
