Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has confirmed on Saturday that flight MH370 was deliberately steered off course. Mr Razak said in a press conference that the plane flew for more than seven hours and could have travelled as far as Kazakhstan.
He has also said the search operations in the South China Sea have been called off as investigation has indicated that the plane turned west.
Mr Rajak said that the analysis of the data has confirmed that the communication systems of the Plane were shut down separately. The data reporting system was shut down at 1:07 am and the Transponder was shut down at 1:21 am. All through this time the missing flight continued to “ping” a satellite on an hourly basis after it lost contact with radar, and went on doing so for seven more hours. The last confirmed communication with the satellite was at 8:11 am.
With these confirmations, speculation is rife that the flight MH370 was hijacked. Malaysian government at present is investigating the history of the pilots and also of the passengers.
