Apple to turn iPhone into personnel doctor by "Healthbook"

9to5 Mac has leaked screenshots of an iPhone which shows a new app called "Healthbook". This app is going to give iPhone users the ability to instantly to keep track of physical activity, sleep pattern, nutrition and also to monitor blood sugar, respiratory rate, blood pressure, oxygen level, hydration level, weight and heart rate. At present it is not clear how Apple plans to achieve all this with an app as some of them needs blood test. But the screenshots clearly shows the ability of the app to monitor all the general aspects of a persons health.

At present smart phones like iPhone 5s , Nexus 5 and Galaxy S4 have hardwares in them like an accelerometer to keep a track of the body activities. The present generation of smartphones can report how many steps the user has taken or how many calories of food consumed. They have specialised softwares to generate these reports. But if the screenshots from Healthbook are real it will take user health reporting to a all new level.

Some analysts have predicted that the Healthbook app will be integrated with the rumoured iWatch, the wearable gadget from Apple. It will allow to collect the heart rate and respiratory rate data as it will worn in the wrist and can monitor the pulse rates. But to track oxygen saturation or blood sugar, Apple may integrate Healthbook with third party tools, which will connect and submit the data wirelessly to the iPhone.

It may also turn that this screenshot can be a fake, I would ask my readers to take this information with a punch of salt, as other than the screenshot no substantial evidence of the "Healthbook" app is yet to be found. The Cupertino based company has not come with any official statement and the true picture will emerge only after the new iPhone launch.

Apple to reduce the price of iPhone 5c

iPhone 5c which has been the lowest selling iPhone is going to see a price cut. As per a leaked email from German Telecom operator O2 shows that Apple is all set to launch a 8 GB version of the iPhone 5c.

A German blog first published a screenshot of the email, later Technology website Endgadget also reported it. Endgadget also published a picture of the box of the new iPhone 5c. As per the reports Apple is reducing the price by 60 euros.

As per various reports around 3 million units of iPhone 5c are lying unsold with Apple. Due to high pricing iPhone 5c has largely failed to draw its targeted customer base, which were developing markets. As per Upeng, a Chinese App analytics, only 2% of Chinese iPhone users are using iPhone 5c. In India also it has failed to draw attention. At present iPhone 5c is sold at Rs 35000, while Android phones like Galaxy S4 and Nexus 5 with much better hardware and screen size gets sold at much lower price.

Apple has launched iOS 7.1

Apple has launched iOS 7.1 bringing a number of changes and additions to iDevice users.

Chief among the features coming with the update is CarPlay, Apple's "iOS experience designed for the car".

With this update users will get UI changes, faster animations and transitions, and also fix for the bug, which resulted in a frequent home screen crash.

New features of iOS 7.1

The update brings a few camera add-ons, such as an indicator when auto-flash will kick in and a new auto HDR mode for the iPhone 5S.

Siri is now having support for push-to-talk. FaceTime call notifications will also vanish automatically once a user answers a call on another device.

There's also a fix for the infamous bug that "could occasionally cause a home screen crash" on which I wrote about and you can read it here.

Changes also include more accessibility options, new button borders and a toggle to turn down "harsh white elements" throughout the system.

Finally, the keyboard got a whole new design tweak in the iOS 7.1.

iOS 7.1 is now available for download over the air through the software update section in settings, or via iTunes on a Mac or PC.

Alleged pictures of iPhone 6 front panel

While the launch date of the iPhone 6 is been heavily debated on the cyberspace, new images of the front panel have surfaced in the far east.In the network forum of weiphone.com, a user has posted these alleged pictures of the upcoming iPhone.

These pictures show a front panel of iPhone 6 side by side with earlier iPhones. If these pictures are correct, it clearly shows that Apple and iPhone lovers will be treated with a much larger iPhone screen this year. There are considerable design changes in this pictures, most notably the non-existent bezels on the sides. Although it seems the overall screen size wont be larger than 4.5 inches.

It may also be pictures of a prototype. We know that Apple normally makes a large number of these prototypes before finalizing on a single design, nevertheless the design is quite striking and would look great.
Moreover having an end to end screen will open up countless possibilities, with touch sensitive volume control buttons to notifications areas in the side. Even some customizable widgets can also be included in the side panels.

But as all leaks I would ask my readers to take these pictures with a pinch of salt as they may be completely fake.

Alleged pictures of iPhone 6 leaked online.

The whole tech community is waiting eagerly for the next iPhone and rumours are spreading like wildfire in the cyber world, with every new specifications leak. And at last the wait seems to be over. Two twitter users Sonny Dickson and mornray886 leaked several photos of the upcoming iPhone 6.
Sonny Dickson has had made several successful leaks on upcoming Apple gadgets in the past.

This is the second time when alleged pictures of the parts of iPhone 6 has been leaked online. The first picture leak have been discussed in detail over here, and the speculation on the specs of iPhone 6 is here.

The current set of pictures shows a extremely thin device with minimal bezel, which is in line with the speculations on the upcoming iPhone. In terms of design the the current pictures are very much similar to the iPad Air.

It is not clear whether the images are authentic or not. Several articles are pointing out to the fact that these images were based on a concept by Martin Hajek, a gifted designer whose designs had the same smudge marks. Also the use of old fonts on the iPhone logo gives them away as phony.

In the coming days, we will be seeing more of these alleged  leaks, some phony, some real, but having them analysed and gossiping over them is fun for an Apple fan boy like me, till we get hold of the real deal.

Apple’s upcoming 12-inch iPad pro will be a iPad / hybrid computer.

As per the latest news coming from the supply chains and as per speculations from various analysts, Apple is all set to marry the MacBook Air and the iPad. The rumours are pointing to a 12 – inch iPad with advanced software and hardware features which is supposed to give much higher level of performance than the current generation of iPads.

Apple has already released 64 Bit A6 processors for mobile devices which has a much higher processing power than the previous generation of chipsets. Along with the newly added M7 co-processor, the stakes has been raised to an all new level.

But now as per Evercore Partners analyst Patrick Wang, Apple is all set to launch iPad Pro this fall. This device is supposed to blur the line between traditional notebooks and tablets. As per the report at Barrons, Wang has predicted that Apple will launch an iPad with bigger screen size, targeting enterprise customers. As per Wang this device will be very much like the Microsoft's Surface tab, which have a Intel processor. He thinks that this iPad pro will be a notebook plus tablet hybrid, targeting the enterprise customers.

Wang comments were mostly centered around treat on Intel. Along with this upcoming device, Apple will also launch it's new quad core A8 processor, which as per Wang will open the floodgates against Intels chip buisness. He pointed out that Intel's CPU represents a significant portion of the cost of laptop. He supplemented his analysis with the bill of materials of Macbook Air with iPad Air, which clearly showed that Intel's chipset consists of 22 percent of the cost of Macbook Air while Apple's own A series processor for iPad Air only amounts to a meagre 4 percent of the total cost.

All this speculation and analysis may not be entirely true and I would ask my readers to take it with a pinch of salt and as a food for thought.

1 and Only thing I hate about my iPad

Over the years Apple products has become a sign of stability and user friendliness. This phenomenon has made Apple an iconic brand whose products gets sold out even before they hit the shelves. Apple with the introduction of iPhone and iPad has literary changed the way people uses personal gadgets. There are millions of extremely satisfied Apple customers worldwide.

But this article is not to exemplify the virtues of Apple products, but to point out 1 nagging disadvantage of iOS devices for which many Apple users are not completely satisfied with their iPhones or iPads.

First of all let me clarify that I mostly do some light office work from my iPad. And by 'light' I mean, checking mails, doing minor changes to spreadsheets, and monitoring telecom towers so that they don't face outages. I don't like to use Laptop for these jobs as they are bulky and not at all easy to carry around. My iPad is a very much suitable and user friendly replacement to a conventional laptop for this type of light work.

But the moment I try to send mails, I start missing my Laptop. The other day I was trying to forward a mail with an attached spreadsheet, also I needed to attach a pdf to the same mail. But how much I tried I could not send those two documents on a single mail. The only option I got was to send two different mails. It is very frustrating when someone realize that his smartest gadget cant do a simple task of sending a mail with two documents in it.

Many people will say that I could have uploaded both the files in a cloud storage and then share the links of the files in a same mail. I would have readily done it, if my corporate policy has not banned cloud storage for data security reasons. I even tried to zip both the files in a single folder but it seemed that the applications did not  have the support to zip two or more files in a single folder.

It is my earnest request to iOS developers to integrate better document management in the coming versions of iOS. It would help may Apple device users if documents with common extensions like .xlsx or .pdf can be universally accessed like the pictures and videos. It will immensely help to directly insert the documents as attachments from the native mailing apps. It will also help when someone ones to upload any document to a website directly, like a job seeker trying to upload his resume to a job portal.

Many people would have many other suggestions and feedback to Apple on ways to improve their products, but for me a better document management is the one and only issue which Apple needs to rectify and update.

How to download iWorks and iLife Apps for free in old iOS devices.

Today I am going to teach you how to get iWorks and iLife suites for free in old Apple devices. When Apple first announced that iWorks and iLife will be made free, people thought that it will be available to all iDevices which has been updated to iOS7. But after updating the old devices most Apple users realized that these premium apps are free to only new buyers of iOS devices. Many old iDevice users, including me were left disappointed due to these terms and conditions from Apple.

But I did not gave up hope of getting these apps for free. After searching through numerous blogs and forums I found a way to get theses premium app suites from Apple for free in my iPad 4. This trick does not even require the iDevices to be jail broken. In fact when I first heard of this trick I was amazed by the simplicity of the trick.

Before going into the details of the trick one needs to understand the conditions set by Apple. As per the terms, these premium Apps are free for download on any iOS device activated after 1st September. Also we have to keep in mind that if an application is purchased in 1 device then it becomes available for download to 5 other Apple devices associated with the same Apple id. This trick is a combination of both this terms.

So in order to get the iWorks and iLife App suites for free, one needs to login to the App store with his existing Apple Id from any new iOS device .After login in, all the premium suites will be shown as free and then a download needs to be initiated. That is, a full download is also not necessary, just purchasing it for free using the old Apple Id will do. As soon as the purchase is done (for free) in the new device, the apps will be shown as ‘Purchased’ in the old device and can be downloaded for free in the old device.
Now many people will ask how they will get hold of a new iOS device without purchasing them. The answer is either ask a friend to lend their new iOS device or go to a Departmental store where iOS devices are placed on a display and use them. Just make sure to log out of the App store after the initial purchase is done.

Go ahead and try out this trick. If you like the post subscribe , follow and share this blog for more posts.
Enjoy :)

"Apple iPhone 6 is to called iPhone Air, supposed to sport a 5-inch Screen, with thinner body : Latest rumour"

iPhone Air Concept

As per the latest reports coming out of the rumour mill the next iPhone is to be named iPhone Air, hinting a new thin body as the iPad Air. The next iPhone will only be 6mm thick, and the weight will be slightly more. The main appearance however will not differ from the current iPhone 5s.

The form Apple's next iPhone will take is one of the most discussed topics at present, but other than screen size and material rumours, there hasn't been much talk about the body thickness rumors. But the latest leaks, point to an ultra thin body form, around 6mm, which is much slimmer than the 7.6 mm thickness of iPhone 5s.

According to the reports coming out from the manufacturing chains, the next iPhone will have an appearance similar to iPhone 5s, with a 3-section back which is consistent with the previous reports.
There are also rumours which suggest that the body of the new iPhone will have a 172:67 ratio. Combining this fact with the report that iPhone 6 will be having a 5 inch touchscreen and given that it will retain its Home Button, and the appearance of the new iPhone will not drastically change, then having a body size that is similar to Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is also reasonable. If this the case, then the new iPhone will add weight due to its sheer size and full metal body.

iPhone Air concept by SET Solution

Also as per purported leaks coming from Weibo, the biggest social networking site in China, suggests two iPhones of 4.7-inch and 5-inch screens are being tested. Additionally, the upcoming iOS devices is supposed to sport biometric features that will represent huge upgrades from the TouchID fingerprint scanner of iPhone 5s.

Whether the next iPhone will be named iPhone 6 or iPhone Air is not yet confirmed. According the latest rumour on WeChat, iPhone 5s will be priced down in May to $100, if this is the case then the new iPhone could be released concurrently and would still be priced at $199 with a 2 year contract.

Apple iPhone 6 - rumour roundup

It hasn't even been 4 months since the launch of 2 brand new iPhones, but the cyberspace is already filled with rumours of a new iPhone, dubbed as iPhone 6. In fact, reports not only highlight the specifications, but there as sources which are claiming that Apple will launch the next iPhone in May 2014. This article brings you all of the latest rumours going around the web.

Of course, we're talking about Apple here, so until and unless the new iPhone is officially announced nothing is certain. But this hasn't stopped lots of juicy iPhone rumours from floating around. Not every rumour discussed over here will be accurate; all I can do is try to give general idea about the upcoming iPhone.

iPhone 6 having Sapphire display.
Apple had spent $578 million to speed up the development and mass production of sapphire glass displays, so we can safely presume iPhone 6 will have it. Sapphire glass, currently used for the iPhone 5s's Touch ID Home button and the cover of the iPhone's rear-facing camera. It is more than twice as durable as the current Corning's Gorilla Glass displays, and is "virtually scratch free" according to glass makers GT Advanced Technology.

iPhone 6’s screen size.
This one is tricky because there are various rumours on the screen size. Rumours of both 4.8 inch screen size and 5.3 inch screen size are floating around. There is also a definite rumour of a 6 inch phablet, in line with Samsung Note 3 and HTC One Max.

iPhone 6 having curved display.
There is a lot of speculation that iPhone 6 may came with a wrap around display. This rumour originated from a patent filling by Apple which pointed to a wrap-around Sapphire Glass touch display. The patent details a number of designs, including a "hollow cylinder, a hollow tube with an oval, triangular, or rectangular cross-sectional shape, or other hollow shapes." Presumably the hollow inside would be filled with the phone's hardware and some kind of cap structure would be added at each end with various ports, controls and antennae.

iPhone 6 may open “Siri”s eyes.
Apple has recently acquired PrimeSense, a developer of chips that enable three-dimensional machine vision. PrimeSense's sensing technology, which gives digital devices the ability to observe a scene in three dimensions, was used to help power Microsoft's Xbox Kinect device. As per rumours this same technology will be used to give Siri the power of facial recognition and detecting facial movements. It may also help Apple in adding gesture controls in the upcoming iPhone.

iPhone 6 release date.
There is a persistent rumour going on that Apple will launch its next iPhone on May -2013. As per analysts Apple is losing a lot of market share to Samsung and Windows due to its once in a year launch cycles. Not all customers across the globe wait to buy new devices during the holiday season. So in order gain more market share and to have a more line up of devices Apple may launch its new iPhone in May -2013.
